The history of
It was 2001, a monumental year....     my dad (Robert Kramer) was scheduled to perform at the GABR BASH.

It was our third waddle...

I  wanted to assure that my "public" recognized me.  I knew,  there would be many "look alikes"..."imposters" so to speak...

I  pondered, "What can I do to help them recognize me"?  Just then I spotted a hat caught in the Chicagoland breezes... "A HAT"!!! that is it, "I shall commission a HAT!"
Well it worked!  Lots of people took my picture and gave me belly rubs... they all spoke of how handsome I was so I decided this hat thing was not so bad.
As you can see, Mom's hat making talents weren't um, shall we say instant genius... this is her first hat... it was functional, but not very immaginative.  But, I did like the attention I got, so I wore it all day.
Mishgun 2002
Mom started getting ideas about making hats for other houndies.
So in the winter, she started making hats... she made LOTS of hats ... and when spring came... We went to Mishgun and gave our Drooling acquaintences the opportunity to get more pets, treats, and belly rubs.
Here you see DaMoose in his pearl hat... and one of mom's other first attempts... painting on a baby hat and adding flowers and elastics.

We think DaMoose's style is ok (for a girl) but we felt she could still improve on the cloth hat stylings.  And that is the story of how 'Ears To You got started.
Since then... she has made LOTS of hats.  Girly hats, Masculine houndie hats, a crown for a queen and a fedora for the blues brothers... She will do almost anything you ask for...
Lady hounds even come to do their own shopping at events like Michigan Basset Rescue's Waddle, MidAmerica Basset Rescue's McWaddle and Basset Blues, Basset Buddies Bash & Waddle.  I usually go to be her Supermodel and Professional Barkshound (spokesperson).  I am a very good "barker" to get folks and their houndies in to look at, and try on hats and stuff.
We are very honored by this beautiful artwork by Ron Burns.  (Click on it for more about him).  The hats are from Ears To You.  He saw the houndies at a pawrade in Arizona, photographed them and painted them ... aren't they just precious.  Their names are Darcy and Lizzy.  I absolutely LOVE his portrayal of them.
